New Experiences
Home

This is obviously Kyla's first time down south and our first time living in this climate, so it's a new environment for us all.  We're having fun watching her explore things.

Our apartment has a pool which we've had her in almost every day.  She loves it and talks about "da waaaa-der".  She's cautiously adventurous and makes advances at her own speed. She wades and kicks around on the steps where she can touch and will swim out with us holding her.  When with us, she'll direct with "go there" or "this way" and finally "all done now".  We have water wings, but she's won't leave them on yet.  They seem a little long for her arms right now.

Getting in the pool with daddy

Mommy and daddy are enjoying the food options here (probably enjoying them a little too much!)  It's been awhile since we've had so many choices and we're hitting them all - mexican, indian, seafood, everything.  Here are some shots of Kyla eating some good beef & broccoli and Popeye's chicken!

Checking out the balloons!

We woke up one morning to find hot air balloons all through the sky.  There is a park near our complex and some kind of event was going on that weekend.  At one point, there were 20 or more up.  They were really close, too.

Everything is very green and Kyla is enjoying the new flowers and bugs...although we had an unpleasant fire ant introduction.  We've watched butterflies in action and have seen many birds (which Chovie also likes!).

Kyla has already seen more rain here than her entire time in Montana.  Some of the storms have been intense with lots of thunder and lightening.  Here are some shots of her taking in a storm from our balcony.
