The Lehmann's Visit Big Sky Country
Home
Jerry and Melissa made a visit out towards the end of March.  Most of the park is still closed this time of year, so we made a trip down to Jackson Hole, WY.  Jackson Hole is about 4 hours south of here -just below Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks.

We took a snowshoe tour while we were there at Grand Teton - Jenny Lake.  It was a guided tour through Hole Hiking Experience.  This was the first time snowshoeing for all of us.

Getting started...

Here we are getting started.  It had been pretty warm - but snowed about 3 inches the night before so we had some fresh snow to plow through.  We took a half day tour so after a couple of hours, the snow started getting heavy.  It was nice though because we could take off some layers and weren't too hot.

We thought this was a
great shot of the 4 of us
with Grand Teton peak
directly behind us.

Here we are heading downhill.  That is our guide Andy in front.

The end of the line

We had a great time on the trip.  It turned out to be a perfect day for it.  Although we didn't run into any animals, we saw several moose tracks and other animals.
We made it back to Bozeman that night and then got a quick visit in to the park.  Since it is mostly closed this time of year, we stayed the night at Chico Hot Springs which was a good time.  They have natural hot spring pools there, so we jumped in at night.  Unfortunately, neither Brent nor I took many shots of Chico or Yellowstone that day, so I don't have anything to post (besides bison and elk at the park).

The Lehmann's headed back east the next day, and we were sad to see them go.
