Kyla has started to love standing.  She stiffens her little legs out all the time.  She's not quite holding on to us/things yet, but she's getting there.  She seems like such a big girl to me when I see her stand!  

She's babbling a lot but hasn't said anything yet.  We're starting to sign here and there, but need to be much more consistent with it.  So far, we're just doing "eat" and "kitty".  We'll see what happens.

I know that she's too young to be "self weaning", but Kyla has developed a definite preference for the bottle.   She is at the point now where she will only nurse in the morning and if she wakes up in the middle of the night.  Otherwise, she will refuse until a bottle comes along.   I'm really disappointed because I wanted to put the full recommended year in, but I've also decided that I'm not going to push the issue with her any further.  It was bound to happen sooner or later. 

Kyla and Grandma Shirley

Brent's mom (AKA Grandma Shirley or Grammie) came to visit this week.  She and Kyla had a great time.  She stayed at home with Shirley in the mornings instead of going to daycare.  Brent broke his leg the week before his mom arrived.  Shirley got a chance to take care of her little boy while she was here, too!
