Kyla at 15 Months
Home

December was a busy month (just like all the others!) Kyla cut all 4 of those nasty molars, so we had a couple of sick days.  We ended up keeping her home from daycare a two days to rest and feel comfortable - but she ended up mostly running around wild the whole time.  There wasn't much resting done!

Climbing on everything - w/ a pacifier again?!?

It seems like Kyla also had a big month developmentally.  Her signing really took off.  We had been signing with her all along, but she was really only doing 'milk', 'cat' and 'eat'.  This month, she learned 'help' and that was the one that won her over.   She's found many uses for it.  She uses it to get help on/off of things, open her toys or bottles/jars, putting back on socks that she's ripped off - all that stuff!  It's been fun to communicate with her on that level.  She also started signing 'more', 'bath', 'peanut butter' (just 'peanut', really) and 'apple'.

As for her eating, she's doing pretty well with her table foods. Pasta was very popular this month.  She has started to say "ummmm!" in a little squeal when she eats.  Sometimes, she will also make this noise when she signs 'eat'.  It's funny!   Breakfast is always her biggest meal.  The rest of the day, she's a grazer and a picker.

Although I've gotten her to drink some cold milk, she's not real excited by it.   She will drink warm milk in a sippy now - but I actually haven't even tried replacing the bedtime bottle with this yet.  I'm dragging my feet because it doesn't seem like it's a problem.  She drinks other liquids from her sippy cups and cups with straws - so I don't feel like she's "addicted" to her bottles or anything dramatic.
