Kyla at 14 Months
Home

Another month just went whizzing by!  Kyla seems to be changing so much everyday.  Mimi was here for a week's visit this month.  It was great having her here!  Kyla cut 4 teeth this month.  She now has 6 up top and 4 on the bottom - and is working on 2 more.  Climbing is a new favorite activity.  She can get on the furniture now - which leaves the cats fewer places to hide.

Hanging out with a waffle

Kyla moved past the baby foods entirely this month.  She's eating all table foods now.   A few of her new favorite items are waffles, apple slices, peaches and eggs.  Of course, this changes daily so I never quite know what she's up for until I try!

She does very well with her sippy cup but absolutely will not touch milk from it.  She also will still not drink her milk cold.  So, I am still giving her about 3 small bottles of warmed milk a day.  I haven't tried too hard to break this yet.  For now, it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Enjoying some apple slices

Speech-wise, the big accomplishment this month is "Hi".  She says it and waves.  It's usually followed by either "Dad" or "Kitty" (or her version of "Kitty" at least).  We wonder if she thinks the cats are rude because they don't wave back.  She has yet to say "Hi, Mom" - but I'm saying it to her constantly, so it's gotta be coming along soon!

Hi, Kitty!

Hi!

She is signing "milk" and "eat" pretty regularly.  She is also signing a couple versions of "cat".  She seems to be more interested in it these days, so I'm always trying new words.
