Back in Montana!
Home

We're back from our visit!  We spent the past month in Pennsylvania (and Ohio) visiting with relatives and friends.

The month went fast and was exhausting, but it was a great trip.   We missed visiting a lot of friends but are glad Kyla got a chance to know our families a little better. For the most part, she handled the trip very well.  She took her naps and slept through the night (mostly).

She changed a lot over that month: she cut her top front teeth, started clapping and playing peek-a-boo, says a bunch of stuff like "uh-oh", "mama", "dada", "kitkit", "mimi" and tons of other babble that mimics our words/tone.  She will stand independently for bit now and is walking along furniture.  She walks pretty well when she holds your fingers and has already taken a couple solo steps by accident.

Tasting Watermelon

She's finally given this little bag thing a chance.  It's only taken 6 months!  It's a mesh bag that holds solids so they can self-feed without choking.  Until this day, she wouldn't touch it.   I tried it with a bit of frozen banana and she loved it.  Of course, she hasn't touched it again since I took these pictures.

I like this bag now!

Frozen bananas feel good on my teeth!

We didn't really realize how much Kyla had grown until she came back into her environment.  Her reach has stretched, so we've had to make some modifications to our living areas. Baby gates are up now, as are alternate routes for the cats.

We're getting a little better with solids.  When playing, Kyla will put everything she finds in her mouth - cat hair, carpet fuzz, leaves, whatever!  But, if you actually *feed* her something, she closes her lips tight!  She loves those fruit and veggie puffs and still likes the orange vegetables and bananas best.  Nothing apple at all!  These shots are of her trying watermelon.

Watermelon is tasting better?

Yum?!?

Ready to go!

Daddy has been able to spend a lot of time with Kyla and is amazed at how much she's changed in such a short time.  He's been breaking in the backpack with walks everyday.  .  Here are some shots of them on their way out.
