Prep for Halloween
Home

We did a lot of little activities to prep for Halloween this year for some reason and I actually managed to document some of it....for once!  Here are some shots of our pumpkin carving.  I will rank this as my least favorite mommy job....the guts are so gross!!!

Here are a few of our kitchen activities.  We made Nutter Butter ghosts, which turned out cute and tasted good.  The white chocolate was pretty hard to work with though.  I read on the reviews that melted icing works well, so maybe we'll try that next time.   We also made "Mummy Dogs" and baked black cat cutouts in honor of our little kitten, of course!

We did a few crafts....this first one is from school.  They made tiny spiders from a bead and pipe cleaners and she had to recreate this as soon as she got home.  Our colors weren't very spooky, but we cranked out a few of them anyway!  And no, I don't know why her shirt was inside-out in these shots.....it might have been like that all day!

I have a lot of pictures from these last two projects because they spanned over several days.  We made bats and spiders out of an egg carton which required painting and drying time, etc.  They turned out pretty cute!  You can see the full display on my Halloween page.  We hung them around the door with some other homemade pictures and decorations.

We've gone to the zoo for "Boo at the Zoo", but it was sooooo crowded last year that I tried an alternative.  We did the Haunted Hike at the swamp instead and it was great!  They had a few tables through the path with treats and live spiders, snakes, etc for the kids to touch.  She enjoyed it....and the treats:)
