Weekend at Chicot State Park
Home

These are a couple shots from a weekend we spent at Chicot State Park in early November.  This was our first visit there.  The water had all been drained a month or so prior to our visit, so the water activities were out and we didn't see much lake.  We did visit the Louisiana State Arboretum which is right at the park and also took a few nice bike rides. The weather was great.

We stayed at the low end cabins, which were just  fine...although bring your own pillows - ha!!!  We really lucked out where we were, though.  In the cabin next to us were three little ones with their grandmother for the weekend and their ages were right in line with Kyla's.  She saw them and said "I'm going to go meet those kids"! Off she went!  They played the whole weekend. Grandma even kept her for meals.

A friend who was a bit too familiar with our cabin!

She kept a little journal of our activities and her finds.

Because the water level was so low, we got to see what goes on below with the trees which was pretty cool.  These shots were from the area behind our cabin. It ended up being a nice place to explore.
