I mentioned in my last page that Kyla started Kindergarten, but I forgot to post the pictures!  Here are some shots of her first day.  Her birthday falls very close to the cut-off date so we really debated whether or not we should start her this fall or wait another year. We decided to give it a try and so far, she's really enjoying it. 

We got lucky, and she was drawn for one of the Magnet programs within the public school system here.  It's a foreign language immersion program, and she is in the French class.  It's a really neat program - 60% of her day is in French and the remaining 2 hours are spent in Language Arts which is taught in English. 

And yes, that is a uniform.  They use them in the public schools down here too (which I love!).  The elementary schools are navy bottoms with a burgundy collared shirt and closed toed shoes.  Nothing too expensive or complicated!
