February Pictures
Home

It's been awhile since I posted so I thought I'd start off with some updates.  Kyla is still doing her karate and is still in the Little Ninjas program, probably until fall when we'll transition into a regular junior class.  She tested for her blue belt in February.

Kindergarten is going well so far.  She enjoys it and although the youngest in her class, she's keeping up....even with the French, if you can believe that.  I swear she already knows more than either of us can remember! Daddy visited school this month for Career Day.  He brought a chunk of old ice with him and the kids were all over it.

I couldn't talk about February without mentioning the Super Bowl, right?  It was all about the Saints down here so we picked up a shirt for her to join in the fun.  Here's a shot after one of her events, and after she played with my make-up, of course:)

Here's another shot of her, all made up, with her favorite friend, Chovie.

As I post these Chovie pictures, I realize how ashamed I am of myself for not yet mentioning our loss of Doot.  We had to put our dear Doot down this summer.  It was so very difficult and such a very sad day for our home.  You may recall from previous pages that she was diagnosed with kidney failure a few years ago.  This summer, it progressed to the point where she withered away to a bone and went downhill.  She would have been 17 this fall; Brent got her as a kitten in Pittsburgh and she jumped around with us everywhere we went.  There will always be a special place with us for our Doot.

I hadn't written about it earlier because I intended to do a page for her, but well....you see how slowly I'm keeping up with things these days.  Maybe someday....

Anyway, I'll segue into another topic via cat....a little blonde cat cooking!  Here she is helping me bake (chocolate banana bread, I think?) while dressed in her cat make-up for some reason.

I usually post pictures of me cooking with Kyla but here are some of her baking with daddy.  They made a banana cake with chocolate frosting.  (And yes, pretty much every time we bake it's to use up old bananas!)

We had a snow day here in February.  It was the Friday before Presidents Day.  The schools were closed and we got our dusting that morning.  It was gone pretty early, although the temperatures stayed low for a few days.

This shot is of her making a "snow" angel.  We headed to Columbus for the weekend after this...she got a chance to make a "real" angel there.  Those pictures next.....
