| Fall Pictures Home For some reason, I didn't take many pictures this fall so I'm putting them all on just one long page here. It seems like the time flew by and I can see why when I look back on it. We kept ourselves pretty busy! We started out with some visitors later in September. Grammy flew down with her friend, Tom, for a visit before Brent went to the field. He then took off in early October and we saw Grammy again a week after that....this time in PA. Kyla and I flew up to her house for a long weekend visit while Aunt Heather (Shirley's sister) was visiting from PEI. It was great getting up north with Kyla in the fall because she has never seen (or at least doesn't remember) changing leaves and all the colors she learns of in school. These few pictures are from a little cookout we did outside at Grammy's house. |

| These next few pictures are of Halloween. She was a cat again this year, which makes for a very easy costume! She did her own whiskers and nose this year. (Can you tell???) Our neighborhood trick or treating was WAY lame. It's always held the 31st here. This year, an LSU game fell on the same night...which of course gave all the adult children in town the sads. Our neighborhood decided to change trick or treating to the night before...although no one informed us!!! I didn't look out and see the kids until it was almost over! She dressed and went out the next night but there was practically no one out, although we still made a good time for ourselves with some neighborhood friends. Here are two pictures of her in costume...and a shot of her, still in whiskers, preparing her Santa list for the next holiday. | ||||

| A little update of what
she's into these days. She still loves to draw and color and is
bringing more and more writing into it. She makes all kinds of
little notes for us and never forgets to include one for Chovie.
She makes useful signs too....a little "clean/dirty" sign for the
dishwasher, gender signs for the bathroom doors, and my current favorite
on her bedroom door, "Renee-Brent-Keep out of room!" She loves it when we play games with her, card games, board games, whatever. She would probably say that's her favorite thing to do, although she still does a good job of entertaining herself.

I finally got around to painting a chalkboard wall! I say "finally" because I bought this paint when she was a baby and we were still living in Montana. It moved to the apartment and then here, just begging to be used! She's been having fun with it. I shot these the first day she was on it. This was a ship with all of us, including Chovie, of course!

Kyla had a little hospital
stay before Thanksgiving. She had a bit of a flu and when once
that passed, she developed a secondary infection in her leg. It
was a bug bite that was scratched and became infected. It went
crazy! She had a very high fever and her ankle swelled at first
like a swollen ankle but later, just everywhere. The picture below
really doesn't do it justice because it was taken the day before she was
admitted. The middle shot is her very sick the first day in. The
last thumbnail is day three, surrounded by all her loot!
She was discharged on day 4 but it really took another day before she could start putting weight on that foot again and a week until she was more back to normal. |
