Birthday Party
Home

We had a great turnout for Kyla's birthday party.  We held it at the house the afternoon of her birthday.  Kyla had a blast.  She didn't seem to have a problem sharing her toys or space with the other kids and really wasn't too overwhelmed by everything.  We included her in the setup and decorating which got her pretty excited for the main event.  The kids' ages ranged from 9 months to 9 years.  We tried to have a lot of activity areas for them - a playhouse in the spare room, tents in the backyard and toys everywhere.  I had a couple crafts ready to go if they got bored, but I never needed to break them out!

I decided to cheat a little bit for this party and used Whole Foods catering for the adult food and the cake.  The food turned out great and the cake was amazing.  It was a double chocolate ganache cake and was really too rich for the kids on a 90+ degree day.  They all switched to popsicles shortly after we cut it....but Brent and I gladly ate the leftovers from it for days afterwards.  Yummy!
