September Shots
Home

Kyla had her three year check-up this month.  She really sprouted over the past year.  She's 42" (97%) and 34lbs (70%) and seems to be doing what she should be doing at this age.  She handled the exam well and even had her blood drawn with just a few tears.

Our biggest news lately is that she's officially finished potty training!  She decided to do this a week or so before her birthday and hasn't looked back.  It's been such a big change to see her using the potty on her own like this.

Kyla likes school and her friends there.  She comes home filthy most days because, as her teacher says, she jumps right in and plays hard no matter what they're doing!  Unfortunately, all this activity does not wear her out enough to take naps anymore.  She seems to be phasing them out because I only get about two naps from her a week now.  Most naps have transitioned into a  "rest time" where she plays quietly in her room or watches a DVD in the spare room for an hour or so.  On non-napping days, she'll go to bed early (7ish) and will put at least 12 hours in so she's  still getting a good rest.

As far as activities, she loves to pretend ("tend") and loves to have you do it with her.  We are always being served a fake snack or beverage.  She is also more interested in dolls, feeding them,  putting them to sleep, and placing them on the potty to "make waters".

Playing in the rain

"Cheese....now let me see, mommy!"

Playing in the landscaping

These rain shots were taken during a storm before dinner.  She throws on her raingear at the first sign of rain and loves to get out in it.  One of our flower beds forms a "creek" during a heavy downpour.  She finds this to be a pretty fun spot.

She still enjoys the water table.  These shots were taken one hot morning while daddy cut the grass.

Very busy!!
