Misc. November Shots
Home

I've accumulated some pictures over the month.  These are mostly pictures of my attempt to document for daddy some of the projects and activities we did while he was gone.

Thanksgiving was a big party for us!  We had 5 families join us for dinner.  Mimi was here for the holiday and was a big help getting us ready.  There was tons of food and drink.  We all had fun, and the kids really played nicely together.  Unfortunately, my pictures turned out crappy because I still had the camera set for the aquarium.  Doh!

Kyla and friends at Thanksgiving

Grace's "gobbler"

She and I have been playing one of her games at least once a day.  She only has a few, Candy Land, Uno and two varieties of Memory.  I'm tempted to pick up a couple more, like Cootie or Chutes and Ladders, because I'm pretty bored with the options at this point...but she's still into them so why bother?!?

Uno is a little complicated for her right now.  We play with open hands.  While she mostly gets the color/number matching, the wild cards are a bit too much.  She's good with Candy Land, but I do admit to being liberal with the rules.  I'll feed her double square cards when she's been sent back or slow down my pace if I'm too far ahead.

Uno!

Heading into Peppermint Forest

Success with the tripod!

Re-hanging the cabinet doors...again!

I've tried to get through a few projects while he's been gone, but I didn't even make a dent in my list.  My helper means well, but she slows down progress a bit.

Here we are re-hanging the cabinet doors that I first hung upside-down.  I'm laughing as I post this picture because in all the tripod shots, she was making me laugh so hard that most we not useable.  We both were giggling for this one.  She starts laughing pretty hard as soon as the camera start beeping.

The other big project was for me to finally finish painting her bedroom.  I've got the colors and have finished taping, but that's all.  She keeps saying that she wants to help me paint...which is why I haven't cracked the cans yet.  I think I'll need my other set of hands back before I can confidently tackle this one!

Let me do it!

Jumping on the bed

A big help

Time out for a cheesy pose

Kyla's room has a built-in desk.  She pulled the step ladder over and perched herself on it to get into some trouble, which in this case was repeatedly turning the desk light on and off....even as I repeatedly told her not to do it.  This thumbnail shot gives me chills.  Why do I feel that there's probably a picture of me somewhere at her age, shooting this exact same look?!?

Climbing to trouble
