French Quarter Festival
Home

Our company picked a great weekend to visit because not only were we able to go to a crawfish boil, but the French Quarter Festival was going on in New Orleans. We headed down Sunday to check it out.

This is a free event featuring local music and foods throughout the French Quarter.  We walked along the river and then picked up a carriage ride at Jackson Square.

After the ride, we set up a blanket in Jackson Square to get some food.  There were lots of  choices.  We grabbed some gumbo, jambalaya and a few crawfish and meat pies.

We walked the quarter after that and then headed to the kid's stage which was by the French Market.  This included a stop for pralines along the way, of course!

Unfortunately, Kyla was not very interested in the entertainment.  It was crowded, and she really just wanted a balloon animal.  We hunted one out by the river and then made our way home.  The clown made her a dog, complete with leash, and she was very happy with it.
