The 1st Annual Doerrler Boiler
Home

Grammy made a little road trip down to visit.  She came with Preston and Phyllis who were in from Prince Edward Island.  This was their first visit to Louisiana.  While they were in town, Bill and Karen hosted their first ever crawfish boil.  We were able to experience this popular Louisiana tradition with them.

The Boil

They went all out.  Massive amounts of crawfish boiled with potatoes, corn, lemons, onions and seasonings.  They had two tables setup and covered, and we all gathered once the grub was dumped.  Nao was very knowledgeable about these little creatures and gave the warning...if the tail isn't curled, don't eat it!!!

A lot of our friends were there, so Kyla knew all the kids and had fun.  I don't think any of them tried the boil, with the exception of Marco.  "I'm trying new things!", he exclaimed.

The eating went on for hours.  There was pot after pot dumped on the tables, and we all just worked our way through them...and our beverages.  The whole experience is very social and a lot of fun!
