Jazz Fest

We went to New Orleans for the last Saturday (5/5) of Jazz Fest.  We spent the whole day there, arrived around 12:30 and stayed through the Allman Brothers to close the night at 7pm.  The venue doesn't have many parking options, so we decided to give the Jazz Fest Express a try.   It was great!  We parked and rode the shuttle from City Park.

Yum!

Taking in the crowd

Interrupting her smoothie for a picture

There were a lot of people there....and we expected a big crowd, but we also thought there might be more room for moving between stages. We realized we would be standing for hours if we didn't secure an area early so, we found our stage and setup a little place.   There were tons of food and drink stands, but we didn't eat much.  Mommy and Daddy managed a few daiquiris.  Kyla had a smoothie and a sno-cone but wasn't interested in eating.  I think the heat killed our appetites.  It was very HOT (90s) with no sun or breeze....and yes, I had her in 50SPF with a sunhat.

Chilling out between acts

Wook!  A frog!

Even though we felt like "old people", we ended up leaving the stage during the last 15 minutes in order to make our way through the crowd to our shuttle station.  It was a good idea because we were still able to hear the last two songs and be on the first bus with no wait.  Kyla fell asleep in the stroller during that little jaunt.  She was beat...but really hung in there.  No tears or fits or any incident the whole time...she stayed with us and either amused herself with the crowd, her sticker book or by climbing on us when all else failed.  We all had a great time and will do it again next year!
