Kyla turns three next month....it's hard to believe!  She had been going to preschool and graduated this month into pre-k.  School has been great for her.  She's absorbing tons and it's really cute to hear her talk about her friends and sing her new songs when she gets home. School wears her out, but she doesn't always take a nap.  She naps about half the days....the other half, she will have quiet/rest time in her room or one of the others.

The things she says crack us up.  She's very expressive.  This is really starting to come through in her play.  She likes to pretend and role play now.  One of her new favorite games is for us to draw maps on the white board, like the one Dora and Boots follow.  She also loves to do puzzles.

We bought Kyla a new bike this month.  She had been riding a tricycle, but it was time for a real bike with training wheels.  Her first time out, she wanted pushed and didn't seem to have it down yet.  I looked out at her the next day, and she was zooming around by herself.

Riding her new bike

Almost three years old!

She was on break for a week before starting school again, so we took a trip back to Gulf Shores, AL.  We spent an extended weekend there with our friends, Jay and Erin.  I forgot my camera (doh!) so no pictures of that trip....but we had a great time.  She's a little water duck and can't get enough of the pool and ocean.

Also during break, I took her back to the Baton Rouge Zoo for a morning.  It was HOT, of course....but there was a slight breeze, so it was tolerable.  I decided to rent a stroller this time instead of bringing ours.  I hoped that the newness of it would lure her in...and it did.  She let me ride her all around without a fuss.  This allowed us to cover a lot more ground than usual.
