Visit to the Swamp Park
Home

Kyla and I made a visit to the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center.  We went there this fall for their program, 'Trailtime for Toddlers'. It's started back up, and I was able to register her today for the May sessions.  Afterwards, we took a walk through the trail and boardwalk.  Our big excitement was seeing snakes. There were two just off the path.

exactly what I told her not to touch

We get a kick out of Kyla because she always seems to have some type of a story to tell.  It usually involves whatever animal or bug is around...and many times they are "sad".  When she says "sad", it's very dramatic.  Her hands go to her face and her mouth curves down as she says the word.  She was doing this throughout this trip to the park...for example with the snakes, she was saying "Little snake is saaaad.  He misses his mommy and daddy....don't be sad little snake. It's ok!"  It cracks me up!  She did the same scenario during this trip with a caterpillar and a bird, too.
