More at 12 Months.....
Home

This page is just a mix of shots throughout September - mostly outfits and activities from mid-month.

Kyla's play has changed this month.  She's been emptying containers for awhile now but has just started filling them back up.  With her Fisher Price shape blocks, she is doing this and starting to sort them by shapes.   She been good about playing solo and entertaining herself - but recently has decided that she likes mommy or daddy to be around, too.  If she's playing and I leave the room, she wants me back.  If I'm sitting near her while she plays, she ignores me.  I guess we can't win!  Also this month, sharing has become important.  When she is eating or playing, she likes to bring you a taste or pass you a toy.  She's doing this a lot with books now.   She will present you with a book and once you start to read, she takes off....and you're left reading it to the cats!

No matter how fussy or tired she might be, I can always redirect Kyla with a basket of laundry.  She loves to "help" me fold - which is usually not too much of a help to me since it ends up all around the living room.  But, we have fun and it really keeps her (and me!) busy.   So....if you ever notice graham crackers or baby snot on my clothes, this is why.  I swear - they were clean at one point!

Kyla is starting to fit into her 12 month outfits.  She is still fitting into some of her 6-9 month pants, but the shirts are all too small.  We loved her in this little outfit to the left - our little boy, Kyle.  The colors looked a bit masculine when purchased - but found it was most definitely a boy's outfit when we got it home.  The front of it reads "King of the Jungle"!

So far, Kyla is proving to be a good, sound sleeper like her daddy.  She will still wake up at night a couple times a week for a snack - but always goes right back to sleep so it's not too bad.  During the week, she takes one long nap in the afternoons after daycare.  (Still no napping there!  Too much to do!)  On the weekends, she will typically take one long morning nap and two quick afternoon naps.  It's almost like she recharges over the weekends and is then ready to roll by Monday morning.  I took these pictures during some of my various attempts to wake her.  She gets really cranky if you have to wake her outright - so I try to ease her out of her sleep with lights, music and cats.  I thought for sure the camera noises would stir her, but it didn't work.

This little outfit really makes us wish we had a concert to attend.  She's ready to boogie in her tye-died suit!  This suit is 12 months and fits her really well.

On the other end of the spectrum, here she is below in her Polo sweats.  She's outgrown the jacket but is still getting use from the pants.  She's looking pretty cute in her baby-bling!
