| We continually notice new
things with Kyla. She surprises us with how aware and alert she is.
She is routinely saying several words now - mommy, dada, hi, bye, kitty, doot doo,
shoes (shoos), juice (joos) and cracker (ka-ker).
She mimics a lot and also imitates our mannerisms. She is still
signing - 'milk' and 'cat' seem to have left her vocabulary, but she
always uses 'more', 'eat', 'help' and 'bath'. She also will sign
'apple', 'banana', 'nice', 'potato', 'brush teeth', 'dinosaur' and a combo sign of
rabbit/horse/cow that I kinda accept as any of the three. (They're
very similar - I can barely keep them straight!) She signed
what I'm calling her first sentence last week - she asked for 'more
potato'. Also, she's moo-ing at cows and dogs. We need to work
on a bark! |

Snacking at her new table
|
She loves to run wild
and climb on everything. She burns a lot of energy off at daycare as
they have many playhouses and gyms. At home, our bed and living room
furniture become her gym. She can get up on anything at this point,
esp. if she uses one of her chairs for a lift!
She likes her new table and chairs.
Although, I find myself saying "sit on your pockets" a lot. She
likes to pull her chair over to the kitchen counter, using it as a
little stepstool for peeking into the kitchen. She knows this
isn't something she should do but will test her limits anyway.
At the table, she colors, eats small
snacks, plays with blocks or Weebles and uses the Doodlepro pad.
She was trying to make us sit on the chairs with her at first and
would get very upset when we wouldn't. Since we're a little too
wide for her seats, it's good she dropped it. She's
content to have us just kneel by it now. |
