Happy New Year!
Home

Welcome to 2006!  It's January and Kyla turned 16 months.  Since daddy is gone this month, my resolution is to keep the site better updated!

Kyla enjoys her visits to the sink and loves her stepstool.  So much so, that little fits get thrown when we're done.  The same goes for her toothbrush.  She doesn't want to move on.

She's starting to show a preference and interest in her clothes.  The shot below is of her wearing a vest she insisted I put on her.  She thought we might be going someplace, but we weren't - so she just kept it on while she played.

"Washing" her hands

It sounds like she may be moving to another section at daycare - with the 2 year olds.  She really likes that side and appears to be ready for it.  She even took an hour nap...on a MAT for them this week!  She goes crazy on their sliding board, which I was able to witness first hand.  They're going to let her go back and forth between sections, so she can decide where she wants to be.  (I kinda have a good idea which side she'll pick!)

She's using a spoon pretty well these days.  This is good because she's completely done with any feeding assistance.  She needs to spoon (or hand) shovel it in.

Sweet potatoes!

Ummm!

We tried a couple new foods this week.  The first was this little peanut butter sandwich - which she loved.  I had only given her tiny little bits on a cracker before this.

The other new food was pizza.  She and mommy had a little pizza party Friday night.  She thought it was great and ate almost two whole squares.

Hold the anchovies!

A new activity this week was the Aquadoodle.  I thought it might be too old for her, so I just bought a mini pad to try it out.  She scratched around on them for a long time and was fascinated by the pen.  I might buy the floor mat, too.
