Mt. Aspiring National Park
January 11th

Wanaka is a base for Mt. Aspiring National Park so we headed out for some walks today.  Unfortunately, the weather continued to be rainy so the clouds just hung in the sky.  Because of this, we never did actually see the highest peak, Mt. Aspiring (3027m/~9900ft)

We did the walk at Diamond Lake and got some shots off the top of Rocky Hill.

One nice thing about the rain in the park is that it creates rushing waterfalls all along the mountains.  We stopped along the way and took some shots.

One bad thing about the rain is that it caused us to spend extra time at our campground which was especially trashy.  We ended up taking an additional walk in the pouring down rain just to get away for a bit.
