Merry Christmas from Christchurch!

I made it into Christchurch on the 23rd and checked into our flat. It's great - a full apartment with a kitchen and washer/dryer.  All for $65NZ a day (~$33US). We've even got an extra bed if anyone can make it:) 

Christmas Day has brought beautiful weather.  I took advantage of it - and the low crowds - with a walk through the Botanical Gardens in the heart of the city.  I also took a walk through the park and along the Avon river.
Although I know we have gardens like this back home, it was still a nice way to spend the day.  The rose gardens were my favorite - with 103 different varieties of roses, all in full bloom.  I know that Brent will be very disappointed that I did this trip without him.  I can think of nothing he'd like better than walking around for hours looking at flowers.
I plan on spending the scheduling out the rest of our trip.  Brent is scheduled to get back in tomorrow night - keep your fingers crossed!  I plan on giving him a couple of days to rest and then we'll be off again.
